BREAKING NEWS: NIKOLA TSOLOV SET FOR SHOCK MAX VERSTAPPEN REPLACEMENT AT DUTCH GP

Nikola Tsolov is closing in on his first Formula 1 running after Racing Bulls confirmed plans for the Red Bull junior to conduct his first F1 test at Imola, putting the highly rated Bulgarian one step closer to a Grand Prix weekend opportunity.

Verstappen’s final home Dutch Grand Prix is already one of the biggest stories of the Zandvoort weekend, with the 2026 race confirmed as the circuit’s final F1 appearance.

TSOLOV IS RAPIDLY MOVING TOWARDS F1

The 19-year-old has emerged as one of Red Bull’s most closely watched young talents and has been pushing for an opportunity in Formula 1.

Tsolov’s progress has become even more significant because Red Bull’s driver programme is increasingly crowded. A first F1 test would give the team valuable information about whether the Bulgarian is ready to make the next step.

VERSTAPPEN’S FINAL ZANDVOORT RACE ADDS DRAMA

Replacing Verstappen for FP1 would carry enormous symbolic weight because Zandvoort is preparing for its final Formula 1 weekend.

Verstappen has won three Dutch Grands Prix and has become synonymous with the enormous Orange Army that fills the circuit. The 2026 event will also feature a Sprint, making the farewell weekend even more significant.

If Red Bull ultimately gives Tsolov Verstappen’s RB22 for FP1, the decision would immediately become one of the biggest talking points of the weekend.

THE BIG QUESTION

For now, Tsolov’s first F1 test is confirmed as the important development.
